Much a serva
nt leader,
Kim is excited about
encouraging the national
and missionary ministry
team develop their gifts
and work together with
churches, schools,
families, and leaders
toward the
transformation of
Nicaragua. “We need to
align our work with what
God is already doing in
the hearts, minds, and
communities here. It is
a privilege to be a part
of this movement and
vision for Nicaragua to
overcome its spiritual
and physical poverty,”
says Kim.Kim grew up on the old seaport village of Sag Harbor, Long Island, where her family still resides. Since her 1972 experience as an AFS exchange student to Ecuador, God put a special place in her heart for Latin America. She graduated from Eckerd College in Florida (B.A. Psychology and Education), New Mexico Highlands University (M.S. Clinical Psychology) and the University of Arizona (Ph.D. Educational Psychology). When not studying in the years from 1977 to 1991, Kim continued to learn and grow as a teacher, counselor, and psychologist in U.S. schools, primarily with Latino children and their families. Ken and Kim began three years of mission service on the Mexican border in 1992, then to teach in theological and pastoral education in Nicaragua in 1995. Kim is an ordained Presbyterian elder and deacon. She enjoys singing with guitar and in choirs, laughing with friends and family, eating, and exploring the beautiful country of Nicaragua.
Please prayerfully consider supporting Kim with a special gift or monthly pledge and becoming part of her support team through the mission fund at First Presbyterian Church of East Hampton.
