The congregation is invited to bring side dishes if they would like (which can be kept in the Session House refrigerator during the church service, with drop-off from 9 to 10 a.m. the day of the picnic). Book Club
The next novel in the Book Club’s 2026-7 reading season is The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali. A sweeping novel about the enduring friendship between two Iranian women whose lives unfold against decades of political and social change, this novel is rich in history and emotion and explores themes of courage, loyalty, sacrifice, and the choices that shape a lifetime. All are welcome to this bi-monthly discussion date!

The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes,, the Book Club’s next selection, is an inspiring historical novel about a group of courageous women who deliver books on horseback through the mountains of Kentucky during the Great Depression. Their extraordinary journey celebrates friendship, resilience, and the transformative power of literacy and community.
Book Club
Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy, the next novel on the Book Club’s reading list, is a haunting novel set on a remote island where an isolated family and a mysterious visitor become entangled as rising seas and long-buried secrets threaten them all. Blending suspense with lyrical storytelling, it explores love, survival, grief, and humanity's fragile relationship with the natural world. The club will meet on Wednesday, March 10 in the Session House.
Book Club
West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge — the final selection in the Book Club’s season — is a captivating historical novel inspired by the true story of two giraffes transported across America in 1938 after surviving a hurricane at sea. Filled with adventure, humor, and heart, it celebrates resilience, unexpected friendships, and the remarkable bond between people and animals. The club will meet to talk about it on Wednesday, May 12 in the Session House. All are welcome.

Family Ministry Beach Party
The East End Family Ministry invites you to a beach party on Sept. 20 at 5:30 p.m. on Wiborg’s Beach. Food and drink will be provided, but be sure to bring your own seating! This is an opportunity to meet families from across the East End who are excited about building a thriving family ministry program. Come for a casual evening of family fun! In the event of inclement weather, the rain date is Sept. 27.

Book Club
The first novel for the Book Club’s 2026-7 reading season is Theo of Golden by Allen Levi. It will be discussed at the club meeting in the Session House on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. Called a “word-of-mouth smash hit” by The New York Times, and Katie Couric Book Club selection, Theo of Golden tells the story of a mysterious stranger who arrives in a small Southern town and begins buying pencil portraits of local residents, returning each one to its subject in exchange for hearing their story. Through these quiet encounters, the novel explores the transformative power of kindness, generosity, and truly seeing one another.
